Gloucestershire set to enter Tier 3 on Boxing Day
From Stroud District Council:
I expect you will have heard by now that Gloucestershire is due to move up from current tier 2 into tier 3 at one minute past midnight on Boxing Day.
Unfortunately the number of cases is doubling every 11 days, hospital admissions continue to rise as does the death rate in the county and so further action is needed.
The full list of changes announced is set out below and is attached here. A reminder of tier 3 restrictions can be seen here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/944215/COVID-19_Tier_Posters_16_December_2020_Very_High.pdf
On the positive side, all vaccination sites in the county are up and running well, so please encourage residents to go for their jabs when called up by their GPs and please encourage everyone to observe the latest restrictions to help prevent the spread of the virus. There are particular concerns about new variants, including that now prevalent in the South East and East. Enforcement activity is being stepped up to help remind everyone that they need to take personal responsibility to limit infection.
